Sailing ship

Hello great site! I am a new member.

Just recently bought a 60 tbird she runs great needs normal type repair for a car this old. My question is when I drive her she feels like I am sailing a ship. Is this a normal type feeling for a car this old and this big? I guess the suspension may need to be reworked any recomendations on what type of suspension to install springs, shocks, ect...

Thankyou for the replies in advance

Karl

If you mean it feels like it's floating on the road then you might check the shocks. You can check this by pushing down on the fender letting go and watching to see if the car bounces more than once. If it does then they should be replaced. The good thing about this is that shocks are inexpensive.

also check to see if there is oil leaking out of the shock, Also check all rubber bushings the sway bar may need new. But if you are used to driving newwer cars withrack and pinion steering and strut suspension it will seem like a boat.
