Post Tires for my 60 Sq Bird

I have switched to 15" wheels, and I'm looking for someone who can help me determine what size tire would work best on my car. I am using Cragar 15" X 7" Spoke wheels. Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Chack out this site for a nifty tire size comparison calculator. One of the accepted sizes (similar to the standard 800-14) using the curent format is 225/75R14. Working back from that, 205/75R15 or 225/70R15 would be about the same height. I think the optional 850-14's were a bit taller, closer to 235/75R14 so maybe a 215/75R15 or 235/70R15.

Depart from what Ford put on the car and here you are asking about tire sizes. Whatever tires you put on the car, I hope you took a hard look at both front tires to see that they were not rubbing on Suspension at a full Right & Left turns. One guy came to me with wrong wheels and tires on a 63 Bird. His problem: "Car pulls to right and pulls to left on turns and car slows down quite a bit on turns." Both inside sidewalls were rubbing on the bolt heads for the Idler Arm and Steering box . Both tires were worn thru to the steel belts ready to fail.
