6 backlights on 59 ??

Hi,

I live in Belgium and want to purchase a '59 bird. The owner claims it's a 59 but it has 6 round backlights ?? Were these produced late '59 maybe?

Just to let you know that only the 1960 tbird had the 6 rear lights - no others - not even a crossover year.
