painting springs

I am trying to make the undercarriage look a little nicer. i have the leaf springs cleaned up but I want to paint them black so they look a little nicer and have some protection. What is a good paint to use?

I would try preparation with a wire brush, followed by two Duplicolor products, available on the shelf at most auto parts stores. Rust Fix has a mild acid that chemically converts light rust and primes bare metal. Follow directions, and apply a top coat of semi-gloss black engine paint. That black is actually a Ford color back in the day and I use it for all engine and chassis parts.

I like to use Rustoleum for under body parts. Clean all the loose material (dirt, rust) lightly sand and then brush on. If the springs are off, then you can use the spray.

I like the semi gloss.
