Air cleaner elements

Has anybody out there had the same trouble I have trying to find an air filter element for your '63 T-bird?. I initially just went by a couple local auto parts stores and both said when they looked it up they were not available and didn't know when they would be. So I got on line and even places like Ecklers and Summit racing said the proper filters were out of stock and it was unknown when they would be available. I did order one from the Bird Nest but they had a note attached saying the current version will make the cover stick up slightly and even they have not been able to find a current available filter that fits correctly. I didnt know trying to find something as simple as an air filter would be so difficult. I've got the original 390 in my car with the original air filter cover. Thanks for any information.
