power steering

I replaced the power steering pump on my '66 428 t-bird. The pump works fine when moving or giving it gas but it does nothing when sitting still at idle. Any ideas.

Did you get all the air out of the system?

turns out the new pump was bad, bought a 2nd pump and it works like a champ. thanks
