I hear ya! I've owned the car for over 15 years. The first 14 I drove it with some roadster replicas and stock height. Got a few conpliments here and there but nothing to write home about. The moment I lowered it and put on the Coys wheels I get tons of compliments along with some nice attention from some of the younger hotties!

Sounds like your gonna have some fun getting that beast together. Post up a progress thread on your engine build. That would be cool to watch!

First post. Just getting my feet wet, reading up on all the info here and saying "hello". I just became the owner of a 57 T Bird and will be seeking knowledge to help put her on the road. It was my dad's, he bought it back in 79 and has been in his garage ever since. He had it repainted a couple of times, the last time during a frame off restoration. That was quite a few years back and he never got it completely back together. Now it's my turn to give it a go.

Here is a pic of a few of mine, always had a thing for t birds. I have had probably near 25 of them. Right now I have a 65, a 70, a 80 Silver Anniversary, my sons 83, and a 87. I also have a 86 XR7 Cougar, its not a Bird but close.

hi guys, just got her so haven't done a thing to her. she is a 68 2 door hardtop.
every single thing except the tow hitch is original, or who knows maybe the hitch was option back then not sure. 101,xxx miles. i traded my 95 Lincoln Mark VIII for her. and i am happy with the trade. hope to have the restore done by end of summer, don't have alot of $$$ so items are limited to just the needs first.

Looks like a good candidate for a restoration.
Body appears to be pretty decent.
How is the interior?
Did you see any major rust anywhere?
You are already ahead of the game because even in it's current condition it is worth a hell of a lot more than you paid for it.
Keep us informed on the progress, and post pictures.
Bob.

The interior is mising the back seats. Both front seats are electrical and moving. The dash lights turn on. Driver side widow is busted, the guy i bought it from had bought a replacment one. So i will be spending M-Day weekend installing it....As far as rust, You cant see any on the surface. All fenders, hood and truck sound very solid. As I dig in more I will have a better idea.
