Finally found one!!!

Well, guys, I have finally found one! Yep, one sweet car, and I'm sure we will buy it. It's a 1978 Thunderbird, 351 Windsor, triple blue, pretty stock, 53,000 miles,no rust except behind rear liscense plate, and...it has the aluminum roof, which seems rather uncommon, and it looks sweet too! Not bad at all for $1699, but we figure we can take it for $1500 cash ;) :thumbsup :hurray

Jim

PS...Due to some 'security' issues(someone found out my AOL password...) I have changed my screen name and e-mail. I can be reached as The Almighty Jim when online, or The Almighty [email protected]

Good for you! Enjoy your new toy. By aluminum roof, do you mean an aluminum band that goes over the roof and ends over each of the small windows on the side of the car? If so, that is a Thunderbird model called the Town Landau. The small windows have Town Landau script on them, whereas the base models do not. Later, Charles

Yeah, it's a Town Landau. We went and looked at it again last night, and.....I am in love. It also has gold pinstripes on the sides, and gold wheels. Luckily, the 'budget' will allow for the stuff that matters...and by that I mean duals with Flowmasters, new steering wheel, and some rims of my non-running (engine-less) 73 T bird! We are going to pick her up officially tomarrow! Any advice anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

And one more thing...it is actually a 79...when we last looked at it, closer inspection of the door jams revealed the truth!

Well, we got her today, and I am loving every second of it! However, there are a few problems I need help with, so please see my most recent thread in the Big Birds post. Yes, I realize It's the wrong area, and yes I am sorry, but I am jts so excited I cannot pay close enough attention!
