Thumbs down '02 is terribly weak

I hate that my very first post on this forum is a negative one, but after a long wait I am bitterly disappointed in this new thunderbird. Maybe I have a particularly bad one but the 260 horses this thing is supposed to have feels more like 125, and it’s performance numbers back that up. 0-60 is close to 8 seconds, and low 17 second ¼ mile times.

Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I have a bad transmission, or at least a bad Eprom, because the thing shifts like hell. If you tromp down on the thing from a stop or even at speeds below 30 MPH it starts shifting all over the place, but never to where it should be. There is also a problem with it through corners… You can’t carve a bend with this thing because it refuses to downshift and exit hard.

This is not a sporty two-seater car… This is your father’s Oldsmobile in a two-seat configuration. This is a giant step back from the Thunderbirds of the 80’s and 90’s. This thing may look good, but it is a shadow of the car that my 87 TurboCoupe is.
