i would take out any restrictions in the airflow to your motor. i may be wrong, i'm not too familiar with the new `birds. however i did hear that the '04s will be supercharged from the factory. if that's true i'm excited that ford decided to pay a little more attention to their best creation ever!!!! :D

I heard the superbird was axed for low sales. If they do it, it'd be nice to able to retrofit a kit to the 02's.

yeah it would. i think that ford should never have let the t-bird be powered by anything other than a v-8 though. it's not low sales, it's the fact that sales are usually higher for a different income bracket of people and location. in texas it's all about trucks and stuff. see what i mean. hell, i'm tired so i'll go now.

The 280-hp came from variable valve timing and some other changes. You'd have to change engines to get the 280 that way...

It's easy...a pair of 40 Series Flowmasters (if you don't mind the sound of a healthy American V8), plus a K&N air filter.
The combo will give you from 25 to 35 additional horses.

Replacing the very efficient factory mufflers with the bulky, oversized Flowmasters will degrade horsepower, not increase it-not to mention the fact that there's nowhere to mount the larger exhaust mufflers.

252HP from a 3.9L V8 isn't bad, but if you really need additional performance, ship the car to Special Vehicle Concepts in California-they can bump that baby to 352HP by installing an Eaton M112, Granatelli FMS and some other goodies to make that mill sing.

I'm doing that with the 04 Pacific Coast Roadster I ordered-almost 400HP will be produced after they finish massaging the car.
