dash lights and ignition switch

hello,
I got my Thunderbird up and running last night. I have two problems, they seem unrelated but I'm not sure. The first is that the digital gauges do not light up at all, even when the car is running. The second one is that the ignition switch won't start the car up, it doesn't even send power to the enticer wire on the starter selinoid. I can start it with the old fashined "bump the engine over" remote starter button. It was late and I had to get back to school, so I left it for this weekend. I was hoping anyone would have any suggestions... it would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Lee
