basic horsepower upgrades on a 55'
i am rebuilding the drivetrain on my 55' and while it is apart i wanna add newer parts; radiator, alternator, electric fan, carb, etc... what are some good choices to make my car run better and a little stronger?

A stroker kit will help, but is expensive. Check with John Mummert for a better cam, high lift rockers. Go with the "G" heads. Have the engine blue printed (brought up to factory specs). Make sure the engine is balanced.
If you have an automatic, do a C-4 conversion. Very happy with mine (Flat-O-Matic kit) . If standard, a five sped will help. shift . A 312 wouldn't hurt either. Last edited by paul2748; 08-30-2013 at 11:46 PM. |
