Brake cable question.

Can anybody tell me how to connect the rear cables to the front cable? My Son and I disconnected them on his '78 and I'm not sure if we got it back together correctly. We have the right side going directly to the splitter, and the inner cable going through it to the coupler with cable coming from the front of the car. The left cable is attached at the frame ahead of the left wheel and then the cable end is attached to the splitter. Anybody feel like crawling under to have a look see?
