Quicker 77 to 79 Steering ratios!!
Anyone interested in quickening up the turn ratio in your 77 to 79 bird? Hahahaha I THOUGHT SO!
I have a reprint of the tech article that tells and shows how to do it. Email me At [email protected] makes the wheezing ford box go from 3 3/4 turns lock to lock, to 1 1/2 turns lock to lock!!! |

Guys,
Does this work with only the Saginaw box, or with the Ford box also? Has anyone swapped in a Saginaw box in place of a ford box in their ride? Do you need to change the pump, too, or is the Ford pump okay for the Saginaw box? Does anyone know dimensions like # of splines on the steering box input shaft, the input shaft length, etc? If I swapped to a saginaw box, would I have to change other things like the steering column?
