New to the game

I am looking to purchase my first classic bird and wanted a little feeedback on where I should start. I'm wondering as far as value will I get the most return on a 4 door or a two door. Also, what questions and what should I be looking for when I am on my hunt...I am of course looking for a 67-69.

Local paper, clist, ebay would be decent places to start, but as far as return (profit trying to flip it) all depends on what you pick it up for, and who you sell it to, but unless you pick up a screaming deal, put no or very little into it, and can sell it with a good profit, more power to you, but from what I've heard these cars dont bring as much as you'd think or what they should in my opinion. what to look for would be anything you'd look at in a used car and one of that age. Fuilds, body condition, interior condition, wht works what doesnt, running condition, how it drives if able. check lights ( and headlight doors, bring vaccuum pump to make sure they open if it has leak in system, they can be costly) wipers ( hydralic, the motors are rather pricey), windows (manual or electric, check for smooth operation and if the motors/switches work if electric, the motors arent cheap either) power seats if it has it( again not cheap) the tail lights and blinkers(squetial units are again not cheap) and if its missing anything (missing parts can a mutha ****** to find and again not cheap. Hope all this helps you and good luck if you do get one. I have a 68, and just drove it for the first time on sunday and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.... but cash does talk, lol.

Well I have settled on a 69 that I found on CL in Phoenix. A buddy of mine is going to hold it for me until I get it shipped to Houston probably next month.
