Vin and data plate! please help!

The drivers door on my 68 has been replaced, the paint is flaking off the inside of the door revealing a light blue color, which according to the vin decoder is turquise, and the car is black, with tan interior. From every where else on the car, the paint is all black (inside of hood, trunk, etc) so I'm presumming that is the orginal color, considering its only got 59 thousand on the clock. Does anybody else know where I can find a way to decode this car, and it there is any way to get an orginal data plate made for it? Usually I could care less on my other stuff, because I modify it and just get good panels on it, but I'm tryin to make this a concourse car, and am tryin to get as much history as possible. And the vin decoder site only goes to 67, they dont have the codes for 68 ( or what ever year my door is). Any help or info would be greatly appericated!

I can't help you, but you might try going here 1967 - 1972 F-100 & Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums where there is a lot of traffic and knowledgeable ppl. Even tho it's a truuck site they would probably advise you. This guy called "NumberDummy" is an old parts guy and knows alot as well as many other guys.
