the flock has gotten bigger..new to glamour birds
I expanded the flock today, my 66 now has company in the form of a low mileage 68, black, black top, tan interior, with the typical bells and whisltes and luckly almost everything works. Just a couple questions about it, from what I havent been able to find from my research on this beautiful cars.
The power anttena doesnt seem to work, was wondering if it has a switch somewhere or if its suppose to come on with the radio. Have a couple window problems, but think I have an idea on where to start with those, but would appericate any tips and info. Also havent yet figure out if the headlight doors open yet, but if they dont, where a good starting point in testing them, or do they only open with the engine running? (havent yet had light on and engine running at same time, just curious) Where can you find gas tank/straps/sending units for these cars? And do they run a gasket where the sending unit goes in the tank? Poor girl has a fuel leak, but havent yet gotten in the air yet to look for it. She hasnt even been home a whole day yet. Vinyl replacement tops- this one has a alligator like print to it, and was wondering if all birds of this era had that style vinyl and if the replacement tops were the same.( curious cause the top on my 66 has a different print) Thats all I can think of atm, but sure will have more info and questions in the next few days. Havent yet bought the manuls yet, but will be ordering them soon. Thanks for any info, tips and time. Havent you heard? Bird is the word! |

Antenna has an optional switch right by the map light on my 1969. Mine does not have the switchand is supposed to raise the antenna when the radio is on. Of course, mine does not work and the radio only works sometimes. It is a flip dial and the switch for it is bad as well

Found some things..
Thank you, although mine doesnt have the switch, gonna have to trace it and see what happens. Found the stuff for the gas tank, just dropped the tank tonight, and dropping it off for repair tomorrow. So far the only question I have at the moment is, are the replacement vinyl tops, the alligator print, because I plan on making this bird into a concourse car. Thanks again for any info ya'll send. Soon will be payin my dues and be puttin up pics on here.
