Preping for paint...someday.

Greetings!!

I'm coming along nicely with my 67 project and looking forward to paint next year. I checked some sources for a question about the "shopping cart" bumpers along the side of my Glamor-gal. I have found a lot of material that tells me there were no fender gard strips running down the middle of the body and that most of these were installed at the dealership prior to delivery. Is this true?

It's only idle courisoty becausee I'm not putting them back on when the paint is done ( and I may about that decision later), I'm really just making sure when I open my big fat mouth and say it's correct , that it is.

Thx,

I drove "BLKBIRD" up to my friends place in KA. over the Thanksgiving holiday where we are going to strip the car down to a rolling chassis and get her laser straight for paint. I took the time while there to remove the dent gard strip on the passenger side of the car to see if it is going to look the way I want. It does.

The 67 just looks good clean sided and since it has no side marker light, just the lower bright-work panel running front to rear, it's making me think I should take a little more time with her and loose the door handles.

I'll take it to the jury, what do you think?

With door handles?
Without door handles?

Let me know,
Lad
