Post octane booster

Anyone ever tried the octane boosters at the store to stop pinging. I have a 428, has been rebuilt but will knock when I turn it off. I tried some cheap 99 cent octane stuff and it is junk, but the 2-4$ a bottle stuff works well.

What does anyone think?

How about your carb. Dumping to much fuel in the engine or ideling to fast. Both of these will cause run on. Could also crack a piston if you let it go long enough.

I'm sure you know you can shut the car off in drive untill you fix it. Slows the engine down enough so it may not run on. I'll bet on the carb..
