Angry 65 blower motor remove/install????

Yeah look under the hood blower motor should come right out,a few bolts. No so. When all else fails read the shop manual. It says make a template and drill holes. The template shown is not to scale. So I guess I'll just take some kind of close measurement off the bolt holes on the replacement motor and figure out where to drill the hole in the firewall to access this one hidden freakin bolt. Now what to drill with. I guess I have to go buy a 90 degree drill like the shop manual says. Anybody else???

This something I have looked at in the service manual and hoped I would never have to undertake. Please let me know if and how you accomplished this (if you did)

Not too bad really. The template is not accurate and the instructions on how to make/use the template are not in depth enough. You have to feel the bolt with your finger and just sort of wing it with the area of the hole. Best part for me was after removing it and testing it finding out it worked fine and problem was a melted insulator on the 5 prong switch in the dash. Can you say "wrench through the windshield?". If the car wasn't so pretty and damn expensive I would have loved to. Problem solved. Now I want a new Edelbrock carb to replace the Holley thats replacing my Autolite. Hmmmm.
