Paint removal
The previous owner of my 65 painted the car white (it had been cinnamon) and also painted the engine compartment flat black......Yikes! I am going to paint the engine compartment white but want to remove the flat black from the wiring which the guy left in place when he painted it......what was he thinking, huh? Anyone have any ideas how to go about this? I really don't want to replace all the wires, but do want to get it closer to original than now.

i don't know how safe it is but i stipped the paint off of my wires with brake fluid. wipe it on let it sit then wipe it off. seem to work for me and my wires are holding up fine...

I just scrape the paint off wires with a fingernail so as not to loose the color codes on the wires. Tedious but worth it. Seems paint doesn't want to stick very well to the wires.
