Back plate size and name

My dad has a Thunderbird 1965 that he's renovating. We were talking about putting a light in the plate between the turn signals as a discreet improvement.

Problem is, I don't know what it's called. :)

The main thing I need is the measurements of it, but at the moment I don't have access to the car for a while. What to call it would be very helpful too in case I need to find more information. English isn't really my first language and I'm not too good at cars in general.
