removing the front vent window on a 65 bird

The manual window crank on the driver side vent window of my 65 bird is jammed - probably due to being 57 years old. I'm trying to get the vent window assembly removed from the door so that I can clean it up, and probably replace the gear - that seems to be the most frequent problem on hand cranked vent windows. I've removed all of the nuts on the assembly as well as the one on the bottom of the door holding the front window track. I can pull the vent window up slightly and backwards towards the rear of the car. However it acts like it is caught on something near the front of the power window glass and only pivots an inch or so. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be preventing the vent window from being removed?
Thanks!

The adjusting screws for both the vent window and the glass run channel have to be turned in completely to clear the opening in the top of the door. I think the one for the vent window assembly is about where you say it is catching.
I recall it took a bit of wiggling and jiggling to get it out.
Hope this helps
