Aftermarket shock tower brace

Howdy everybody - have a new-to-me 65 bird.

The shock tower braces were removed at some point - before I buy a set of stock ones, are there any aftermarket ones that are preferred vs the originals?

thanks!

I haven't seen or heard of aftermarket braces for these cars. (Which doesn't mean they don't exist.) The stock units have provisions for clips and hangers that will help clean up the engine bay. Any supplier of used t-bird parts should be able to set you up. Painted up and installed, they'll give a more finished look to the bay.

If shopping for used ones, remember that the 64 were different. Make sure you get a set with a narrow section on the driver's side. This gave clearance for the larger master cylinder needed for front discs. Anyone planning to change to a dual master also needs this type.
