I decided the actual seat cover installation and possible (probable?) rebuilding or repair of the padding was a bit more than I wanted to undertake. I found a shop that was willing to do that part of the work for a very reasonable cost, so I removed the seats and disassembled the front ones so I only took them the backs and seats (no bases, etc).
They were done in less than a day.
Hope this helps

The 1965 Ford Thunderbird Shop Manual gives a pretty good description as to how to install the seat covers. If you don't have a manual, this is probably the best place to start.
