Advice on Undercoating

Hello Fellow Bird Folk,

Looking for your thoughts/advice on the undercoating under belly of my 64 bird. It is a California car so there is no work required to replace pans, etc. All solid with most of the original factory undercoating still intact and in good shape. I do not drive her except for fair weather in spring/summer/fall so there is no worry re moisture from wet roads and God forbid salt (I am in Canada). Car is stored inside otherwise. So I am thinking of freshening up her underside with some rubberized undercoating. I have looked at the POR stuff but it requires removal of any existing undercoating and really is only fully effective on rust. May look at using POR 15 for the rear axle, wheel backs and drums and some front end pieces. Looking for your expert opinions and advice.

Thanks
Randy

I would wire brush all the loose stuff off then use a rubberized undercoating. You can get it at any auto parts store.
Good luck and have fun with your bird

Exactly what I am doing...got her half done today. Messy job but making sure all is covered with lots of material in the seams.

Thanks
Randy
