Disk brakes.

It is essential for me to convert my 64 thunderbird to disk brakes, and want to know the best way to do it. Do I buy a kit; or go to a junkyard????

The easiest way is from a 65 or 66 bird. You will everything from the spindles out and the master cylinder. You will also need the wheels to fit these huge calipers as most aftermarket rims will not fit until you get to 18' + wheels.

Also, if you can't find the correct rims that will clear the calipers, you can pick up a pair of 1" offsets at any auto parts store.
With them installed, the rim doesn't touch the caliper.
That is what is on my 66, and looking at the front wheels, one would never know they are 1" out further than the rear wheels.
