vibration through the steering wheel above 40

65 tbird, seems to track alright, doesn't pull at all when braking. When speed gets above 45 there is a vibration through the steering whell. I have only had the car a couple of weeks, so was thinking of taking to a place to check the suspension. Know any places in the LA area? Mechanic friend test drove and he couldn't figure it, but suggested it could be a u-joint problem. Any other things to check?

It could be the wheels need to be balanced.
If it were a u joint, chances are the vibration would be felt at all speeds.
I have a friend in East Los Angeles that is a mechanic,
He does work on older cars most of the time.
He has a white 66 town hardtop that he has done a lot of work on.
I will get his number and send it to you in a PM.
Bob.
