Wheel Skirts

When I picked up my 64, it came with the original wheel skirts--both newly painted--but the previous owner said there was no gasket to fit them to the car. Turns out, two new gaskets were hidden away in the trunk. I took a look at how they fit, and it appears that there is some kind of trick to it. Do the gaskets get glued down? (Otherwise, looks like I'd need 6 hands to do the job!) I would assume they install on the skirts themselves, but seem to be a poor fit. How does this all go together?

Some seals have a channel that fits over the top edge of the skirt, and some do not have this channel, and have to be glued to the skirt.

I had the same problem with wheel skirt gaskets , I used chip clips for potatoe chip bags you can get them at dollar store. About five to the bag. Put glue on top edge of skirt, place gaskit on little at a time, use clips to hold until glue sets. Be sure to fit gaskit frist the ones I had were left and rifgt and not marked. holes should lineup. Then trim excess gasket material from holes. The skirts will need to be realigned.

FENDER skirts were originally attached with staples. For years, I have been gluing them in place. The skirt seals I use have a flap that folds over the top edge of the skirt.

I've always bought a roll of stainless wire at the hardware. Located the holes where the staples used to be, Laid the rubber on the skirt and poked the wire though. Then pulled and pressed it down tight twisted it on the back and pressed it up. Just another way
