Post Dashboard Questions

On my '64, There are some real electrical issues with my dash, so I have some questions:
1. What are the three circular lights flanked on each side by a toggle switch? This is located just under the clock. What do the toggle switches do? I think one is marked D and the other F.
2. There is a long rectangular red plastic light lens at the bottom of the console. It seems to push in and out. What is this?
3. I have the AM radio that actually works (sounds great). How hard is it to retrofit the AM/FM unit? Anyone have one they want to sell/trade?

You have the "Convience Group" which consists of flasher switch marked F, flasher indicator light, low fuel indicator, door ajar light, power door lock switch marked D.
The rectangular light is the seat belt warning light, which should extinguish when the lens is pressed. Comes on when you turn ignition on. An original AM-FM radio will fit right in there where the AM is.

Cool

The stock AM radio that was standard on the 1964 was made by Motorola and was (and is) considered very reliable and trusty. However, the AM/FM radio that was offered as an upgrade was made by Bendix, I believe, and were troublesome and prone to problems. In fact, the vintage radio rebuilders shy away from restoring them. There are radio shops that will take your stock AM radio and upgrade it to a digital AM/FM while maintaining the stock appearance. You might consider that instead. Good luck.
