Post the dreaded leaky heater core...

Well after replacing all my coolant/heater hoses under the hood, and cleaning/painting parts I had taken off and changing belts, I finally got it back up and running and started to flush the cooling system. To get all the coolant out, I turned on the heater. Now, this is the first time I had the heater on since I bought the car in Jan. Well, you can guess where an unwelcomed puddle of coolant formed :( .... So, I assume I need to replace the heater core so I was just wondering who all has had the dash off on the 66 and if anyone has any advice. It has A/C. Thanks!

You don't have to remove the dash, just the right lower instrument panel.
If this is a project car you might want to get a shop manual as it is coverd in detail and is very helpful for just about all systems.

YES!! It is a project car and I do have a shop manual. I haven't got to looking at that part yet but I will be checking it out in detail soon! I assumed the dash had to be removed as it does on some other cars (If I remember correctly, my Mustang needs it removed). Well, thanks for the input, I feel better already!
