flasher

This is a discussion on flasher within the Flair Birds [1964-1966] forums, part of the Thunderbird Model Years category; what is the "flasher" on my dash panel supposed to do (apart from make the little light flash) ??...

I assume you have a 65 Thunderbird. It has 5 flashng lights on the dash. You have the Left & Right Turn signals that flash. On some cars you have the low fuel flasher. On some cars you have the Door open flasher.O some cars you have Emergency warning light Flasher.

thanks for your reply t-bird-art. Yes you are right in assuming that i have a 65 :)

I will describe my dash for you - left to right.

Firstly, there is a switch with the letter 'F' on it. When you flick it a red light to its right with the word 'flasher' starts flashing. To the right of that light is the 'door adjar' light, then the 'low fuel' light, then to the far right there is a switch with a letter 'D' which i believe is supposed to work the door locks.

My indicators are on the left side of the steering collumn and i have sequential indicators. As far as i can tell this has no relation to the previously desribed instruments/lights or whatever.

So.. just wondering what the "flasher" switch and light do.

The "F" switch is for the warning lights. The light on the panel tells you the warning lights are "on". The warning lights are the eight turn signal lights (front and rear).
