My 66 Town Landau has a two barrel carb and intake. I finally got some numbers off of the engine that I am hoping someone will recognize I also attached (I hope) a picture of the Carter Fuel pump I removed from the engine this weekend. ( I need to replace the fuel pump). I also had to remove the oil filter adapter and strangely enough the casting has a '69 date code.

On the intake manifold in front of the carb the number is : C9AE 9426-B
On the exhaust manifold the number is C6SE9451B
The tag on the two barrel carb says : Autolite DOAF ZB 9G 17
There is a number on the valve cover also: 7 16D3E

I would like to identify the engine so I can get the correct fuel pump (for starters). I am not concerned about originality at this point but I do want to get her running.

What ever it is the Manifold # C9AE I believe makes it a 1969 engine(C9) out of a full size ford(A) with 1966 (C6) exhaust manifolds for a Thunderbird(S). (E) = Engine part.

Get the "correct" one? Correct for what? A 1969 whatever? A 1966 Thunderbird? Since you have a 1969 engine, seems you have already lost "correct". If you want the engine correct for 1966 Thunderbird, first get the correct manifold and carburetor. Also get a fuel pump for a 1966 Thunderbird. Otherwise, get whatever fits and lets it run. I trust you realize that the numbers you found are not part numbers. You should find numbers cast or stamped on the engine block, but that will only tell you the origin of the block - not the engine or the heads

I think he wants "Correct" for the engine. With a 2 barrel carb I would guess 390. Will need block numbers to start to make a guess

Yes, I am looking for correct fuel pump for the '69 engine.

Can you folks tell me where on the block I can find the numbers that would permit identification of the engine?

I suppose I could just get a fuel pump that fits a 69 390 (aftermarket) but I dont particularly feel like redoing the fuel lines.

Well that's not a 66 fuel pump so I would say it's a 69. There is usually an aluminum tag on the intake but those tend to get lost. On the front driver side there is a ear on the block that has some numbers stapmed on it that may help. If the Carb is original to the engine (no real way to tell) it could be out of a 69 couger. You could try that andsee if that's the pump.

I have some pictures I'll try and dig up and post that show where some of the markings are at on the engine.

I was doing some looking around and I think a 69 thunderbird 390 fuel pump look like that.
