A newby dumb question

I've been trying to find out how the moniker 'Flair Bird' came to be used for this generation Thunderbird. It's easy to understand 'Bullet Bird' for the previous generation - just look at the front fender. Anyone know the answer to this dumb question?

I don't know for sure, but I think it was a term used by the ad agency responsible for the thunderbird comercials.
