Need help asap!
hello there, i have a 66 custom convertible i am building. I have the 428 that came out of it and had it fully built but, i do not have the trans I found a rebuilt FMX that came out of a 390 bird. Will it fit? is it the same size? would there be any issues?

The 428 is externally balanced and a 390 is internally balanced, meaning that you need to make sure that if you get a trans from a 390, you need a flex plate/flywheel and possibly torque converter for a 428. I believe the 428 (and maybe the Merc 410, same crank) is the only FE that is externally balanced.
