61 engine in a 65??

I am new to this thread and was wondering if anyone knows if a 390 engine out of a 61 would fit/bolt into my 65 T-bird? My current egine has all sorts of problems (exhaust leak on drivers side, choke inoperable, egine knock, hard starting). I have limited time and resources but I'd like to get her back running in good shape. I found an engine that sais it is out of a 61 Tbird (Ford 390 FE performance motor) and would love to swap it for my current beast to give me time to rebuild and still keep it on the road. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking a 390 FE engine can be installed in a 1965 Thunderbird. You need to furnish the exhaust manifolds, don't you. It should mate with your '65 cruise-O- matic transmission. Offhand, I cannot see a problem. Will you hear it run before you buy it?

I would probably not buy it if I couldn't hear it run first, just to make sure it didn't have any obvious problems. I was hoping to be able to remove the exhaust manifolds off my old engine and install them on the new one. Would this be a possible issue?
