Question why a 64 thunderbird???

hello from Austria!!!! 8)))

I was offered an 1964 ford thunderbird hardtop one week ago!
I really must say, I dont like the Landaus so much, and I always wanted a coupe (no convertible)

Its a 2nd owner car, the first owner was from switzerland, and owned it for about 30years!
The car has original 40.000 miles on it! The exterior is in very good condition, and the interior is like new!
Options are for example leather interior, rear fender skirts, original radio,...
The Car is almost completely original! (just new brakes, and a brake force booster were installed)
Colour is "vintage burgundy"

my question is
What is nice on the 1964 thunderbird as compared to a 65,66,63,62,61?????

Please also let me know, why people decide to buy exactly a 1964 ford thunderbird?????

I dont really know, whether I should wait until I get a 65, or are there also some advantages or perhaps OPTICAL MARKS, or preferences on the 64??

Thanks a lot in advance and lovely greetings from Austria!!
hoelli

I would say it's a matter of taste as far as appearance is concerned. Probably the best reason for the 66 is four piston disk brakes on the front wheels.

Question

I personally like the design of the 64, and 65 most!
But are there differences in value, or is the 65 more popular between collectors?

There are some differences between the years.
with a 1965 car you get the front disk brakes and sequential turn signals. Also, there were fewer cars produced overall in 1965, which could translate to higher value in the future. I think it comes down to a matter of personal preference and what car you find in what kind of shape. I personally prefer the '64 Bird as I grew up with one.
