Post Oil pump

I got my 65 running.Well sort of.After taking out the fuel tank for replacement.I ran a line into a gas can to start the car. After running for a few min i looked in the car and noticed the oil pressure was dead.So i got out my oil pressure gauge and installed it in place of the oil sender. The motor has no oil pressure.I got the oil pump and a new pan gasket. My question is have any of you ever put an oil pump in these motors.I have done the job plenty of times on numerous other cars just wanted a little input before the car goes into the air.Tips and hints would be appreciated

Thanks
James

I had to replace the rear main seal on my 66.To remove the pan and oil pump you may have to jack the engine up an inch or so to get clearance. Lower the pan to the cross member. position the counterweight will clear the oil pan.
Remove oil pump retaining bolts and place the oil pump, inlet tube screen and intermediate drive shaft in the oil pan. You can then remove the oil pan and oil pump.
Good luck,
Joe
