Convertible Stopped-Help!
My 66 top has suddenly stopped working. The first phase of the process works fine (lid up) but when the time comes for the top to lift off from the windshield, the motor (or something) groans a moment and nothing happens. Could this be a solenoid? Or a bad motor?

Oh man, good thing this didn't happen on the road or you would really be screwed!
Check to make sure nothing is blocking it or is in the way. That groaning tells me the motors are working and trying to lift the roof. |

Could be a bad solenoid, Making the pump trying to pump against a closed valve. Check your solenoinds to be sure the wires are connected. They have a short wire that plugs into the harness. Your hooks are not hanginging up at the winshield are they?
