Help changing fuel filter

Trying to change the fuel filter on my '66 with a 390 and California emissions kit. All of my oil filter wrenches (slip over the bottom and use a 3/8 drive) are too big. Any tricks to getting the cannister cover off? Doesn't look like I have enough room to get a band wrench in either. Thanks!

I would suggest you get the correct filter wrench! They come in many sizes. However, it's difficult to get a wrench to work because of space limitations.
