Red face Electrical Problem

The car was running fine. Thirty minutes later, the engine would not turn over, and none of the electrical components turn on. The problem is not the battery. The battery cables are new.

Could the problem be the starter relay or the voltage regulator? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Had that problem with my 66. Turned out to be the ignition switch. I ran a jumper wire from the plus side of the battery to the coil (not the points side) then jumped the cellenoid to get home.

Check your starter solenoid, if it won't even turn over the problem is not your regulator or the alternator. follow the pos cable from the battery to the solenoid, and cross this solenoid post with the closest smaller post on the solenoid also. If it turns over, your problem is the ign switch or wiring. If it doesn't turn over, get a new solenoid....

Thanks to all who responded. It turned out to be the power wire to the ignition switch.
