New Style AC Compressor??

My 66 AC Compressor leaks and I've been told it needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I'm not planning to make this a show car--should I change the compressor to a rotary or something other than the big york unit that is on there?? I'll be changing over to the 134a, so any recommendations on that process would also be appreciated...
