Possible engine change
Hi All,
I am just about to start the restoration of a '65 convertible which has stood for the past 25 years without being started. I suspect that it was originally parked up due to an engine seizure. I have been given a '66 390 Ford Galaxy engine and I was wondering if I changed just the cylinder block, would all the other T-bird parts fit, such as the heads, sump pan, inlet manifold etc? Thanks. Neil. |

Not to say for sure, but a 390 is a 390 and it wouldn't be cost effective for them to have a galaxy-exclusive block. Even if the engine accessories were different, they would still have to connect the same. But if you're being given the engine, and the tbird's engine is dead weight (or to repair it it'd probably have to come out anyways), so why not try it out?
