Trunk Seal
I bought a new trunk seal (the one that goes right around the trunk opening)
(1) Is it meant to be glued in position? (2) How do you cope with the corners, it tends to 'roll' upwards out of the slot. (3) It seems to be quite a bit thicker than the old seal - the deck lid is hard to push shut, is this normal with a brand new seal? Hop you guys in T-bird land can help (again!) |

I have the new rubber in place but not yet glued - are the ends meant to be by the trunk latch or just below the rear window or...? |

Have it meet at the trunck latch. The ones I have done I used 3m adhesive and would glue about 6-8 inches at a time. I never trimmed the excess where the ends come together untill the very end since after fitting it in the trough I didnt want to get to the end and find out I was a hair short. Were you replacing it due to age or trying to cure a leak? If its a leak be sure to check the cowl drain boots in the trunk also. Good luck.

I had already replaced the cowl drain hoses (and the patch of rust in the trunk floor!) Thanks for the advice. |

All: any idea how to replace or find the trunk drip rail??? My rails are completely rusted and I can't find anyone who makes or carries them. I would love to have a trunk seal on my car but I don't have any metal to glue it too.
