Post C-6 FRONT BAND ADJUSTMENT?

my 66 shop manuals says" tighten the front band adj. screw until the wrench "overruns" then bach the screw off 1 1/4 turns and tighten down the lock nut.Chiltons' says torque the adj. screw to 10 ft. lbs. ,back it off 1 1/4 turns and lock down the lock nut.Which is best/preferred/? Any difference? What is meant by: "until the wrench overruns"?Thanks for any input.BJ....

Thanks for replying joe,do you think the 1/8 turn in the "back0off procedure" would make any difference? I havent road-tested the car since the adjustment,if it drives and shifts o.k. wud probably be o.k. to let it go?Thanks again,BJ

I think it will drive out fine, 1/8 turn one way or another shouldent make much difference.
