The neutral start switch is on the tranny on the C-6. It is on the steering colum on the cruise-o-matic.

On the C-6, the torque converter housing is part of the transmission case. On the Cruisomatic, the torque converter housing is bolted to the transmission case.

Cool

Thanks,Joe and Harley.Apparently the tranny has been changed. It checks out to be a C6 but I can't find a Neutral-start switch on it.All I can find on the column that looks like the pic of the switch has vacuum lines attached. There is a sprag on the shifter that hits a white plastic button on this thing. Is this the parking-brake release?Common sense says a switch would have wiring usually-I'm gonna look at the tranny again.Thanxamillion,Cannedband DJ,Jeff., IN

The vaccum lines are for the parking brake release. If you don't have an electrical connection it is not the neutral start switch. My guess is that you have the C-6 that has the switch on the tranny.

If you have a 1966 Thunderbird that came with a C-6, the data plate on the door should show code 4. If that is the case, it once had a switch on the treansmission which may have been removed. If there is no switch there, you can put one there, but I would first check to see if the wiring is present. The switch on the steering column would be only for park brake release. Let me know if I can help further.

Thanks ,again Joe and Harley. The tranny definitely is a C6-code 4 on the data plate.I agree some previous owner probably just left-off the switch during a tranny replacement or something. When I bought the car in '92 there were some wires under the hood i had to connect before it wouild even start with the ignition switch.I need to check the color code for the wires to the Neutral-start switch.I'm thinking this wiring probably went to the N.S.switch.I'll let you know,Thanks,Cannedband DJ's

I think the junction block you are refering to is the mount for a fusable link if it has black and yellow wires to and from it. Can't tell you the gauge of the link.
