Well, I got the manifold back on with this crazy sealant Mazda has. It's like $50/tube and isn't available to the public!

I still have to connect some hoses to the carb and manifold, but I should be able to try and start her this weekend.

Same thing happens! I swear this engine combo is cursed.

Next, I'm going to recheck all of the rocker arms to make sure there aren't any huge gaps or anything. Man, this car really let's me know I'm a rookie.

I think it's about time you had somebody with engine experience standing beside you, the problem sounds like a 'basic' fault.
At times a second fresh set of eyes will pick up a fault or problem that you have overlooked despite your best efforts.
Been there - done that!!

Keep at it guy!!

Thumbs up

SHE'S ALIVE!

Fabbed a carb spacer to go under the carb spacer, and it worked. You can in fact use the Edelbrock intake manifold with a 4100 carb.

If I can do it, ANYONE CAN!

Bill White still argues that the stock manifold is better than the Edelbrock, but what's done is done. I can finally work on something else in my car.
