HELP!!! Need seat belt
Hi guys, I've looked all over, sent numerous e-mails to suppliers of classic T-Bird parts (but only two have bothered to reply!!) and in dire need of one of the seat-belts for my "66 Town Landau.
It is the section on the drivers side that bolts to the transmission hump and has the latch on it, the type with a round recess that is pushed to release the belt, - mine will not hold 100% of the time and it has to hold 100% to allow me to get the old girl on the road legally in New Zealand. The belt is coloured grey with a tinge of green but will consider any colour in good oreder to get me on the road. Can anybody help (without me resorting to e-bay)? Thanks Captain Mike - I flicked them an e-mail a day or so ago, waiting for a reply.
I've noticed that when I e-mail a firm in the US there is less than 50-50 chance I'll get a reply (especially the first time) but here (NZ) I get a reply every time, is this normal in the States? Just wondering. |

Seat belt repaired
Well, sent the belt off to Ssnake-oyl, they've fixed it, fingers crossed it will be here in a week or so.
What activates the seat-belt warning light? Any of you guy have an easy explanation of this??? |

I just wrote an article about the seat belt indicator lights for the VTCI publication, the Scoop. The answer for you will depend on the year of your car and the manufacture date. If you don't have wiring for a switch in the RH seat belt retractor, you should have a relay(?) that extinguishes the light. The light itself would be lit by power from the ignition switch.

I don't get the 'Scoop', how do I go about it?
I'm waiting to get my seatblet back then it's just a matter of figuring how to get my Overhead Safety Control Panel working. The Door Ajar type light works but that's it, the rest need a sort-out! After messing about with my Landaus headlights ( they need to dim to the LEFT in this country) I discoverd that the drivers side earth wire for the turn-signal light on the fender was not connected, will this affect the way the turn-signals work? |

It's Back!
Got my seatbelt back from Ssnakeoyl products after it did a 27,000 mile round trip.
For $35 they supplied and fitted a new buckle, it matches the other original buckles perfectly - except it has less wear marks and scratches. I'm impressed with their service especially as they were dealing with a foriegn customer on a far away country. And best of all:The belt bolted right back in and works perfectly. :hurray |
