A/C Vacuum Question

All of my a/c components work fine, however I found a second vacuum can under the right fender. No vacuum line is connected to it it must have been bypassed. I have referrd to a vacuum diagram which shows two lines connecting to it (this can only has one nipple for a vacuum line). Does anyone know how this should be connected?
Thanks,
Josh

Vacuum tank

I have a 66 just like yours and it came from the factory with the vacuum tank you describe with ONE hose to it. I know some diagrams show two but they are wrong. It works (gets vacuum) from the same line that the one on the fire wall does.

Thanks Joe, I have all of the vacuum operated devices working now. Just waiting for a a/c check valve to be delivered and I'll be done.

Josh: I saw the question, but I did not see an answer. How should it be connected? Should be connected as follows: vacuum hose from the intake fitting behind the carburetor connected to the check valve, then a "T": one side going to the hidden vacuum reservior under the fender, a smaller hose going into the passenger compartment, T'ed at the temperature regulator above the blower motor, then on to the main console AC/heater control. Harley, Should this setup have two check valves(one for each vacuum reservior)? Also is the reservior under the fender for the AC and the reservior on the firewall for door locks and trunk release?
Thanks,
Josh

The can under the fender, behind the headlight is for the AC/heater only. The door lock reservior (on the firewall) has a built-in check valve. I'm not sure there is a check valve for the trunk release.

Now it's all beginning to make sense. Everything is working however I do not have the vac lines routed properly, back to the drawing board. I do not beleive the check valve on my fire wall can is working. Do you know where I can find a new or used one(can)?
Thanks,
Josh

vacuum check valve

Josh: you can simply add a check valve in the hose to the door lock reservior rather than find a reservior with a good check valve. Many of the built-in check valves leak.

Does anyone have a vacuum diagram for a 66? I replaced all of my lines but I messed up. None of my heater/ac controls work.

Vacuum diagram? Why not use the one in the shop manual?
