Gas spewing out of 66 & intro

Hi,

My name is keith and my wife and i just bought our first t-bird. It's dumps fuel out of it when i turn to the right something awful. Does this car require a vented cap or non vented cap?. I tried to search the forums with little luck. Thanks

keith

my 64 does it a little as well. I was told there is a gasket between the end of the neck and the neck that should be replaced. cap does not fix it.

So where is the gasket located and how do I gain access to it. I am having same problem and was almost ready to pull and replace whole tank before I read this.

all i did was take the filler tub out and the gasket goes in a groove in the opening of the tank. I cleaned the filler tube up and lubed the new gasket/ O ring lightly and it slid back together nicely. No more leaks :O)
